I start EFY this Sunday. I am so excited. I have been studying and getting ready ever since I got my acceptance letter. Last Saturday we had an ALL DAY training event. When I say ALL DAY I mean ALL DAY 10am-5pm. Im fortunate enough to have my work give me time off for the weeks I'm working EFY.

During circle time one of my sprouts turned to me and said "How come you are wearing boy shoes today?" I looked down at my shoes and the only think I could say was "Ya these are kind of boy shoes." Later that day he said another funny thing. I bought a new curling iron. It's really big and makes my curls super relaxed. This was the first day I had tried it out. He said to me "Did you forget to brush your hair today?" I said "No I did my hair today." He then said "My hair looks like that when I first wake up and then my mom brushes it and it fixes it." YES!!!! If I'm not lookin good to a 3 year old then there is no way a 23 year old will want to date me. I laughed all day long.

The Book Thief

I am in love with this book. It is so good. This book is about a girl in WWII. Her mom leaves her with a foster family, her brother dies, she hides a Jewish man in her basement, she attends Hitler's Youth Academy, her city is bombed and so many more things. The book is narrated by death. In this book the girl learns to read. She learns how powerful words can be. She attends many of Hitler's speeches and realizes how powerful his words are and how his words are affecting her life and her community in German. If you are looking for something to read you MUST read this! I read it in about 4 days. I could not put it down!!!

I was on the Koins for Kenya blog the other day and I found these cute pictures from this summer.

This is my best friend Konga. She followed me every where. I miss her so much. (Notice her pink toe nails)

The kids loved bubbles. Notice Konga right next to me in her cute red dress. Her family had good clothes and they had shoes. Her brother is the boy in red with shoes.

This is the day I found Konga. She was standing in the dirt crying. She was so sick. Her poor ear. I snuck her ear drops and food and medicine every day. By the time I left she was all better!! Yay!!

This was my favorite function we went to. We had a massive dance party that lasted a good 20 mins. The kids were singing and clapping as we all danced.

This is at the ceremony for Dallin's school. The ceremony lasted 4 very long hours. Look at the looks on our faces. Classic!

About a month ago I wanted to burn some music for my class. I wanted them to be exposed to the classic children songs that I grew up with.

Songs such as:

and so on

When I put the cd on not much happened. They almost didn't even notice it was on. They only knew a few songs. I went back on iTunes and I saw the top children's songs were those from popular tv shows- Handy Manny, Bob the Builder, Max and Ruby, Diego, Imagination Movers, Yo Gabba Gabba and so on. When I put that cd on I swear the kids thought it was Christmas. They were screaming and jumping up and down. They knew all the words and exactly what tv show it was from. Wow have times changed since I was a kid.

I have been taking lots of Bikram yoga classes. My aunt and uncle own Salt Lake City Bikram. I have always really liked taking yoga classes so I thought I would try Bikram. The difference with this class is it is done in a room that is heated to 105 degrees. It is awesome!!!

Each class is 90 minutes long. The class goes through 26 poses.

Look at these super cute things that I am making/selling. Something that I have noticed in my classroom is that moms dress their kids in thick long sleeves during the winter. This is great when we go outside but when we are inside and they are running around the poor kid is dripping in sweat. I have found the solution... why not create removable sleeves. Brilliant. These also double as leg warmers for babies still in onesies. These pictures aren't the greatest. I have also made onesies with cute pictures that match the arm/leg warmers. I also have made the cutest hair clips and tutus. I also have boy warmers and boy warmer/onesie sets.

This year for Halloween at the preschool we had to dress up as a story book character and bring the book in to share with our class. Last year for teacher appreciation week our owner gave all the teachers this book. Since all the teachers are familiar with it I decided to dress up as The Tiny Seed.

I had fun going to the fabric store and making this costume. My class really liked it. The girls loved my skirt.

There is the cutest little girl in my class. She actually just turned 3 last week. It's more like she is 3 going on 40. Her mama calls her Miss G. She is so smart. For example: we have these two little bikes that the kids can ride during gym time. One bike is too tall for my kids to ride. Miss G said "I think it would be a better idea if they ordered two small bikes instead of one big bike and one small bike." She is also a nature granola girl. I love it! Both of her parents are map makers (I'm still not sure about what that means). Each weekend they take a cool outdoors trip. I was shocked when Miss G told me she went rock climbing one weekend. They also go camping and to Moab and such. Ok all this information is important so you understand my Cheeto story. We were all talking about what we were going to have for lunch that day. We were having taquitos. One of the boys thought I said Cheetos. He kept saying "Yum I love Cheetos." Miss G turned to me and said "What are Cheetos? I have never had Cheetos." For some reason I was so excited that she didn't know what Cheetos are. I'm so glad that she is getting proper nutrition from her parents. Don't feed your child tons and tons of junk food. It really does reflect on their behavior and their overall ability to function. I don't know if her eating really well has a relation to this but she is the most well behaved one in my whole class. She is a really good listener, she is alert and has energy, she is able to fall asleep at nap time on her own, she sleeps the whole nap and wakes up well rested. Yay for Miss G and for Miss G's parents.

Last week I taught my class about my passion: art history. They learned about 8 modern art artists and museums. We did art projects based on each artist. They loves it. It seriously was so much fun!! We set up a museum in our class and invited other classes and their parents to come check it out. The parents loved it. I really want to do this again in December with different artists.

I remember the first time I saw it/heard about it.

I was at Jessie Pollei's house with my boyfriend Jason Vierig.

They were all looking at Facebook and I had no idea what it was.

Only college students were allowed to have a Facebook.

I was not in college at this point. I was so excited when I got my college email address.

I was the only person in my apartment that had a Facebook.

The other girls didn't know what it was.

It wasn't until my sophmore year at college that my whole house had Facebook.

Facebook has come a long way since that.

I just wanted to say how proud I am that every Olympus football game so far I have only had to pay the price of a student. I pass as a high school student. I know that I am only 4 years older then a high schooler but I think It's pretty cool. It helps that I am only 5'2". I noticed when I was in Africa that no one there believed that I was the oldest. They always thought I was the youngest because I was the shortest. At the first welcoming ceremony in Kenya this African man explained to the village (in swahili) that McCall was the younger sibling to Dallin and I was the older one. Some random African in the crowd yelled out "but she is short." Everyone started laughing and I just stood there. That was my first welcome to Africa. I'll take it as long as it gets me $3 off a football ticket!

Whole foods

My school is located behind and to the side of Whole Foods. I occasionally wander over there on my break. I like to look at all the weird, natural, organic things they have. Some of the things are so weird. Especially their makeup/ beauty section. I have made friends with this cute check out girl. We always comment on each other's nail polish or head bands or talk about the latest celebrity gossip. I enjoy our 5 minute conversations every so often. It's nice to talk to another adult for a few minutes when I've been talking to kids all day. The other day she reached up to fix her hair and I learned something new about her... she represents Whole Foods to the extreme-she had some nice hair under her arm. Not the kind of hair like she forgot to shave today. I'm talkin it's been a few years. Yay for granolas.

I am also really confused about a good majority of the Whole Foods employees. They spend their time representing and advertising no chemical, organic, natural...etc. foods and products. However, I see A LOT of them outside the store smoking. I'm so confused about that. I'm sorry but it's gonna take the aspartame in my Diet Coke and the red dye #5 in my Swedish Fish a lot longer to kill me then the chemicals in your cigarette. I'm just saying

So here is a weird story about a kid in my preschool class. Two weeks ago our theme was "families." We talked about a different family member each day-moms, dads, siblings, grandparents, aunts/uncles/cousins. The day before the "dad" day this mom came in and asked if she could talk to me. I knew that she had just got divorced and her and her boy were living with her mom. I figured she was going to tell me that when we talk about this boy's dad to say something to the extent of "he lives in another house" or "even though mom and dad aren't married it doesn't mean he isn't your dad." Boy was I wrong. She told me that they are telling the child that he doesn't have a dad. This boy is only 3 years old. Very confusing for a 3 year old boy. The man she was married to, living with and since this boy can remember has always been known as dad isn't his biological father. Once the divorce was final she had this idea to say that he didn't have a dad. She then looked at her child and said "we will find you another one some day." I think I just stood there and didn't move for like 5 minutes after she left. When it was time for "dad" day we just skipped over that child. There was no way I was going to say "(insert child's name) doesn't have a dad."

For Labor day we went up to our cabin in Bear Lake. It was so nice to relax and do nothing. I spent a lot of time watching movies and sleeping- things I haven't done in a long time!

Bitter sweet, but mostly bitter

Last week was the first week with my new class. My new class is called the Crocodiles. These kids are 2 1/2 almost 3 years old. The first day of school was oh so very hard. I hated not walking into my class room. I hated not seeing my 10 beautiful babies. I hated not being able to talk to Kim and Brianne. I hated having 14 new children stare at me and call me Teacher. My name isn't Teacher. I hated not knowing where anything was in my new class. I hated seeing my old class walk down the hall and run to me screaming. They were scared of their new teacher. They didn't know who she was. I hated that my new class yells at me and runs from me. I hated not being able to snuggle and rock my sweet toddlers to sleep. I spent the whole first day of school constantly telling myself "This is my new class. These are my new kids." It was really hard. I felt like I was starting a new job. I didn't feel comfortable in my new class. I didn't know the parents. They didn't know me. We had to build that trust all over again. The first week was hard. Really, really hard. 14 2yr. olds is hard. I spent a lot of my time researching and talking with expert teachers on effective classroom management. By day 5 I finally felt like this is my class. My heart wasn't aching for my old toddlers. My heart was rejoicing when I walked in the room and the kids said "Hi Lacee." My class finally started listening to me. They finally started understanding the routine of the day. They finally started to clean up when it was time to. And to line up with it was time to. I have been very creative with my classroom management. These are some things that have helped me:

1. I play this CD that has clean up songs on it. They know when that is being played it is time to clean up. It is not time to play.

2. I have split the class in half- green circles and blue triangles. These are the groups they play centers with. These are the groups they line up in. These are the groups that take turn washing hands. It's a lot easier to manage 7 kids rather then 14 all at once.

3. I cut out bright orange hand prints. I lined them up along the wall by our door. 7 on the left side and 7 on the right side. When it is time to line up I say find a hand print. Circles on one side. Triangles on the other.

4. The sticker fairy comes at nap time. You sleep, you wake up with a sticker.

5. If it's a crazy day I close down all the centers except one. When they have showed me they can clean up then I will open another.

I know these things sound silly but they are working. I am less stressed. I was worried that the 3 day weekend would erase all my hard work- drilling these kids to listen to me. I was very pleasantly surprised that today was a great day!!

Last Friday we had a big teacher prep day. We had the whole day to make our new classrooms beautiful. I have to say that I was not excited about this day. I couldn't even go into the Butterfly room. It was too sad to have to say good bye and hello to a new class. Will I love these new kids like I did my old ones?

The last day of school

On the last day of school the teachers in my class threw the kids an ice cream party. My class for some reason became obsessed with Elmo. I think it started with the twins because their sister has a huge stuffed Elmo. A while back I burnt an Elmo cd. My class LOVED it. So we threw an Elmo ice cream party. They loved it. It was so cute. It was a good way to end the year. I am so sad that I will not get to see these cute kids anymore.

We aren't supose to post any pictures of our class online- do to the fact that some child molester will use that information and come steal my babies. However, I'm breaking a rule. How could I not with a picture as cute as this? She is darling!!!!!
Note to child molesters that are reading this: Haha this girl isn't in my class anymore so you don't know where to find her if you come to my school. You also don't know her name or you don't know if she even still goes to my school. Sorry but I win!

The Butterfly Class

When I got home from Africa I had about 3 weeks left with my preschool class. Then it was the end of the school year and onto a new class. I was so sad the last week of school. I had watched my class grow up. From newborns to walking, talking toddlers. This was my first class. I love these children. I will be so sad to see them with a new teacher. With a new girl they cling to. When I first started my class I blogged about each child. To keep my kids safe I gave them nick names. Here is the final update on my class (with newish nicknames because now they have personalities of their very own):

Drama Queen- She is very particular. If someone is in her space she screams. She can eat more then a grown person, but yet she is tiny. I lover her mom. She is darling!!! When she sleeps she needs 3 things- her elephant, her sea horse and her blankie.

Thing one- AHHH I love her! This is how you can tell her apart from her sister. Her face is round and her name starts with a C. We have this little stuffed dog in our class. She has taken it as her own. She loves that thing. She finally learned to walk. They were walking when I got home from Africa. I was so excited. We have yet to figure out how to put her to sleep.

Thing two- AHHH love her also!! She is my buddy. Her face lights up whenever I walk in the room. She is darling. How you can tell her apart from her sister is her face is long and skinny and her name starts with a J. She knows all her animal sounds. It is so stinking cute when she says BAHH and MEOWWW. I will be the most sad about losing the twins.

Designer Jeans- She is the cutest red head I have ever seen. She has a very cute personality. She doesn't like to be wrestled with or tickled. Her parents are both very cute and young. She is always in the CUTEST clothes.

Stinky baby- She was coming full time and then they pulled out to come 2 days a week and then they added full time again. I'm glad that she came the whole week. She is really easy going. She is never upset or mad. She is really pretty.

Momma's boy- He is about the same as my first update. His mom loves him. He is always sick. Maybe it's because his mom is a little over protective. He has become the biter of our class.

The smallest but the toughest- This girl is TINY! However, don't pick a fight with her. She is tough. She climbs all over, falls and gets right back up. She also has no hair. I'm talking bald! She is so cute.

Who?- We don't really know his personality. He only comes 2 days a week and the whole time he screams and throws tantrums. He doesn't let us cuddle him or anything. He just does his own thing. His mom just had a baby. Cute!

Stranger Danger- He slowly got over his stranger anxiety. YAY! He actually turned out to be really funny. He is really smart. He can talk and sing.

Drama King- This boy is so funny. He was our last one to learn to walk. If he is sitting in reach of a toy he will point to it and whine until someone can get it for him. It is so funny. I think he will have the hardest time with this new adjustment. He is really funny when you tickle him and he gets laughing.

We adopted this guy as our brother. His name is Anthony. One of the funniest people I have ever met! Anthony will be coming to Utah next summer if you want to meet him.

Here's the story with this beautiful girl:

One day I found this girl laying in the dirt. She had a really bad ear infection that wasn't getting better. I spent the whole time I was there feeding her, sneaking her antibiotics, putting her asleep for a nap, cleaning her and basically just loving her. She followed me around 24/7. When I woke up she was on my front porch waiting for me. I would spent all day with her and then take her home when it was dark- around 9:00. I love love her! Her name is Konga. Anywhere I would go she would be right behind me. One night I took her home and her dad told me that if I wanted to keep her I could. I wish soo badly that I could have taken her home with me. When I go back to Mnyenzeni she will be the first person I find.

She would take a nap and I would carry her around strapped on my back.

My cute friend Sophie recently passed away. I cannot express how lucky I feel that I was blessed to have her in my life. She is the happiest person I have ever met. Her laugh is infectious and her light is bright. She is beautiful. I spent a majority of my time that I knew her admiring her and who she is. I remember countless nights being in my room and hearing her laugh and voice coming from my sisters room. I remember picking her up and dropping her off when I first got my license. I remember taking her and McCall and all there friends to toilet paper boys houses'. I remember her spending hours in Dallin's room as they rehearsed for the Koins For Kenya concert. I remember sitting in the kitchen and listening to her and Tessa and Dallin sing Free Falling in my living room. I remember going to the high school sporting events and watching her cheer. I remember the first time I heard her sing. She was singing along to the radio in my white Volvo. I remember every time she came over my dad would ask her to sing. I will forever play her cd. I love her gift of music. Sophie was everyone's best friend. Her spirit knew that it was special and it's purpose in this life was to bless and touch everyone it came in contact with. I loved the funeral today. It was absolutely beautiful. I loved hearing from each of her family members and their fond memories of her. She helped Dallin raise money for Kenya. I am honored to be apart of a project in Kenya when I go over there in 3 weeks. Each desk in Dallin's school will have Sophie's name on them. You blessed my life Sophie and I have learned so much from you. I have learned to live life to it's fullest, to bless everyone I come in contact with and to occasionally stop and smell the roses. I will miss you Sophie. I will look towards the moon to find you. I can't wait to see you in Heaven! xoxo

I was pretty bummed when I realized that I can't go to the pool every day because I work full time. However, my preschool class gets water time for 2 hours once a week. so my friend julie told me that it's important for me to write all my kenyan experiences down. since i havent gone to kenya yet i get to write about me preparing to go.

so first off i do not like animals. if you know me i am sure you have seen this one time or another. i am nervous about getting to kenya and having these strange animals all over the place. i dont like them. i dont like to look at them. i dont like to touch them. i dont like to talk about them. i just dont like animals. at least i can openly admit this. she thinks that i need to get over this slowly so when i get to kenya im not screaming every 5 seconds that i see a strange animal.

second, change for kenya is going good. we are in an arts show this weekend that i hope will rack in some good money. we have decided to cut the chains short and add beads to them. we dont really know what we are doing, we just make things up as we go along. also, 2 different people purchased $100 orders yesterday so thank you!

third, bret (the director of the expedition, not my ex boyfriend haha) called my mom and told her that the expedition is full so we need to reserve our spots asap. i hope some good, cool people are going on the trip with us. it would be cool if some kids my age were going.

fourth, i am now working full time at the preschool so that will help rack in some good money for the trip!

i am going to kenya in 84 days!

I feel like lately all i have been thinking about is kenya- me going to kenya and dallin in kenya. i am planning on going to kenya with my dad and mccall with koins for kenya this summer. in order to raise money for my trip i am selling these on this website. i encourage all of you to buy one. please please! all of your money will go directly to my trip which will benefit the country and people of kenya.

Anywho... the fam went to st george this weekend for easter/spring break. the weather was so nice. i layed out the whole week (thurs-sun). i got some good color on my face and my arms. i am so excited for summer. i wore both of my new swim suits. ahh i cannot wait for summer. while i was in st george i saw the movie the last song. im going to admit that i love miley cyrus. i fell in love with her when i worked efy last summer. i probably heard her two songs that go like this sttttuttering and everybody makes mistakes a million times. they were played more then once at each efy dance. not to mention she was on american idol last week. yay!

i loved this movie. i didnt cry but everyone in the theater were bawling. i want to see it again so bad.

another thing as of lately is that i am not dating conor anymore. all im going to say is he turned out to be someone that i dont want to date.

another thing is that all the babies in my preschool class are 1 year olds. well i have one girl that will be one in 2 weeks. i am so excited. i gave them all little books for their birthdays. they have developed so much. a few of them will be walking soon. they are so cute and so much fun to be around. i absolutely love going to work and being able to help out these cute children.

efy is being so lame. i didnt get accepted to provo but i am not sure about salt lake and logan. the website says that im accepted but they havent emailed me yet. i keep asking them and they are clueless. kinda frustrating!! i havent heard of anyone that has been accepted to provo. very strange.

we only have 2 more activities for sigma. i am so sad that it is over.

whats happenin friends! yes it is true, the dreads are gone..... i woke up this morning and felt like true hell so i said “who here knows how to cut hair?” and I had a couple volunteers and they got busy. I almost started to cry but it feels sooooo much better already. I barely ever sweat now compared to being the dirtiest kid ever when i had them. I honestly found some of the dirtiest critters in there it made me sick. but anyways where do i even start for today.. it has been so freakin sweet! it is good to hear from you all, the st george trip and dad coming home too early to take out the trash on saturday night with mccall haha thats priceless. good luck getting your phone back mccall what is this like the 87th time its been taken away? its all good i guess. so today we had a swahili lesson and i think I am really starting to understand all the greetings. I can now talk to all the kids and i think they are starting to be able to understand what i am saying. the only problem is that right when they respond i don’t know what to say after that so i just smile and walk away haha. its too bad they don’t understand english cause they are all so happy and dope. we met in the Mnyenzeni school that koins built a couple years ago and it is sooo much nicer than the one they had before. they still use both the school that the village built a while ago along with the one koins built and there is a huge difference since they build all of their buildings out of mud and sticks. then we went into the actual village of Dzivani and i was so freakin stoked! me and bret rode in on motorcycles and it seems like it has been forever since I have been on one of those since we just rip the mountain bikes now ad ays. but it was fun, it is exactly 18 kilometers away from Mnyenzeni and it is sooo amazing there. it is all hilly and the houses there are so freakin sweet even tho they are just made out of mud and whatever crap they can find. the actual village is so sick too, they have a huge field out in front of the secondary school that the kids play soccer on and the school is kind of up on this hill. The way we are going to build the school there today anthony explained it to me, we are just adding on the primary school that the government already built there. When Bret met with me and dad way back in september he didn’t think the government was going to build anything for them because they are jackasses but then they ended up building a secondary and a little primary school so what we are going to do is build onto the primary school that they built but it is way crappy so it is going to be sick! we will build another wing onto the primary school and it will be a two room kinda thing and a total of 60 feet addition. we then cruised down and checked out my house, it was the craziest thing! they have all the skeleton of it built but we just need to finished doing the horizontal supports of it and then start mudding it and then do the roof with tin sheets. It is soooo sick! can’t wait for you guys to do get over here. It is a two bedroom kinda thing with a bit of a hall way down the middle of the two. crazy huh! i am living straight luxury in this village haha and all the primary kids are scared of me because of how remote their village is. But I have the best view of Mombasa and the Indian ocean just right out in front of my front door. crazy but i am way stoked to move in. They also had me start learning how to put up the horizontal supports along all the walls and all the local dudes were just making fun of me in swahili it was awesome haha. The chief then told me that when every man turns 16 in the Kenya, he moves out of his parents house and he goes to build his own house for himself. so if mccall was a dude she would be living on her own right now how insane is that! and they are just expecting to know how to build it and you would be surprised how technical and completely flawless they can make their houses with basically a machete and sticks, it is ridiculous how good these guys are and how big of a rook I am. Then we just kinda got use to the village a little bit and we cruised back to Mnyenzeni and me and some dudes went into the workshop and started building some desks for the Vikolani school. We only got one built in like an hour and all the local dudes were just making fun of how stupid we were. they bust out like 50 a day and we got one done in a good hour, such rooks we are. Then anthony came over and got all pissed at us for how slow we were at building and said we have to build at least twenty on thursday. who knows if we can do it, probably not but we will see ha it is hard work. i am getting more than a cross fit work out every freakin day i live here its dope. I do miss cross fit so bad tho! all we eat here is Ugali which is just maize flour turned into a play dough kinda thing but it is way good and Chapati which is like a tortilla and maybe some fruit if we get lucky. I have no energy! I need meat and veggies or i am gonna die I swear. I am coming home weighing in at a good 140 i bet. We heard a cool story last night, the way the school system works here is that you are ranked in your class depending on how your grades are. So finals are going on right now and this kid was ranked number two in his class and he was going to take the ACT to qualify for Kenyata which is the university here, but he didn’t have the money to take the test. It is 35 bones to take it here and he is an orphan. So we found out who his sponsor was from the US and it turns out it was this girl who we are with it was her neighbor, so she went ahead and paid for his test and everyone starting crying including him cause of how grateful he was. They take school sooooo so so much more seriously then we do in the states, it is their life it is outta control! I would be the biggest bum here right now if I went to school here. To even be in the runnings to be considered for Kenyata, they have to have a 33 on their ACT......YEAHHHHH RIGHT! They are so much smarter than we are it is crazy. So Mccall you gotta schoot for that next time you take it.....siiiiiike! Oh yeah and i forgot to tell you, showering here is so dope. they just give you a bucket of water and you got into the kcc shower stall and just dump it on yourself and wash up and then rinse off. It is especially nice with this short hair I’m rocking now cause it washes so freakin good! But it is good here, the nights are amazing, the scenery is not even real i swear and i can’t wait for you guys to get here! i already have a thousand videos and pictures i need to show you but the internet here is the biggest joke so i can only send you a couple today. but i have so much footage it is ridiculous! hopefully dad you get this at the office and can read it to danny and those guys or something. Tell our cross fit posse that they inspire me to kick ass here every day and I miss all of them! keep it real mom, lacee, mccall and whoever else i send this e mail too i can’t even remember haha. can someone please get a hold of jess and tell her to e mail me!!!!!! i miss her so bad i honestly am in love and i sound like the biggest homo saying that but its true. anyway, stay in school mccall, these kids would kill to have the opportunity you have. sounds gay and i never thought I would say it, but take it seriously! don’t be a dumb shit like I was, pardon my language mother but its true. Whats up friends! so today was the dopest day ever.. we woke up and cruised into Changamwe to go to church and it was crazy. there were a good twenty people there but it was pretty cool cause they all spoke english. It is weird too cause the ward was right in the middle of the grossest and dirtiest part of town and especially the sketchiest. But they love white people every where we go, especially in the church. It looked like we were going to get raped cause it was down this back alley and then you look up and it says in written letters “church of jesus christ of latter day saints” it was pretty dope tho and then we went into this place called the Akamba Carvers and they are a tribe that make their living off of nothing but wood carvings. you know that carving in aunt roses house of that giraffe? yeah they carve animals of all kinds like that and they use nothing but a hand saw lookin thing and files. we got to see the guys actually making everything and it is crazy how skilled they are. the crazy thing is is that they all live in little grass huts with barely any clothes on but they whip out tons of these animals all freakin day and they are honestly the sickest things I have ever seen. One guy was making walking sticks that truly almost had me reaching in my wallet and grab a twenty to give to him but i didn’t have my money so i couldn’t buy anything i was pissed! but then we finally drove into the village of Mnyenzeni today and it is the craziest thing between the town and the village out here. Right when we rolled in, there was this welcoming committee of little kids that sang and danced for us it was so funny, I filmed all of it and I will send it to ya when i actually have this internet thing figured out. They honestly sang and danced for us for a good hour and then we got a tour of everything going on here in the village. Since Koins came along, they have given this village a girls high school, the KCC, a wood shop, a tractor and a bunch of dorm rooms for the girls to live while they are going to school. Tell MCcall that she has no idea how good she lives, here in Kenya they have to wake up at 5 in the morning to start class and they have 10 periods a day and they don’t get out of class until 10:30 and that doesn’t count homework or anything, that is when they get out of CLASS! yeah, kill me just thinkin about that. they also have to live at the school because some of them come from like 40 miles away to come to school. I got tons of pictures and videos i will send so you can actually kinda have a good idea of where I am at. Mom would honestly be the biggest wreck if she was here, there have been some moments when I just have to close my eyes and act like I didn’t just see what happened and walk away. It has been crazy, but I have been here two days and i freakin love this place. the sky here is soooo bright, if you think lake powell stars are cool, they got nothing on Mnyenzeni stars. but any way, thats all i got for tonight, we are about to hit the sack and tomorrow we actually start working with all the people tomorrow so until next time, laterrrrrrrrr

Whats up fam! So this is by far the craziest place i have ever seen, by far crazier than anything i expected. We got in last night around midnight, about 2 in the after noon your time and then we basically got here and just crashed in the hotel. With a combined 22 hours of flying time, 26 hours including layovers and what not, it feels like the biggest blur two days of my life. salt lake to portland was just a crap flight but then i threw down an ambien on the way to amsterdam and it felt like that flight was a good 20 seconds, that thing knocked me out before the plane even got off the ground and i woke up with a pool of drool dripping everywhere on the tray table and the captain saying we were about to land. Amsterdam is a tight place, it looked really green and cool from the air. We had a 2 hour layover, so we cruised to the casino because the legal gambling age there is only 18 haha. it was sooo much fun, if I could gamble in the US I would have no money, it is so addicting. I first hit up the blackjack table and tripled my money like a bad A but then the dealer kicked me right in the sack when he got black jack two times in a row. then we cruised over to the roulette table and that is by far funner than any slots or anything in that casino. I just bet red or black every time and I won a bunch there, but once again i lost everything haha. I ended up walking away with a new addiction and 25 bones less than i started with. but any way, Kenya is the craziest place! we had to roll into town today to buy a bunch of groceries for what we are going to eat all week. I honestly can’t even describe the city and the way of life down here, it is a whole different world. There are monkeys everywhere that try and steal your stuff and i almost had one run away with my camera. They are annoying little buggers and they think they are so tough when you get close to try and take a picture, its funny they run at you all fast and if you just don’t move they hurry and turn back and get all scared. The city of Mombasa looks like Tijiuana on Steroids pretty much. People selling everything, including THE HERB, Cocaine and all other sorts of weeds that can widdle your teeth down to nothing just to get a buzz. Everyone drives on the different side of the street than in the US and the cars all have the steering wheel on the other side of the dash. We saw kids basically naked just running around everywhere saying “Baba Baba!” to all the white dudes which means father and holding out there hand for money. Mom would honestly shiz her self if she were here, so make sure she doesn’t come in August haha. I am kinda scared to even send some of the pictures I took today because you guys might freak. Oh yeah and if you think you have felt heat, think again. Today it was 87 degrees with 85 percent humidity. I haven’t stopped sweating this whole day haha my shirt is just soaked with sweat and its not just me either, everyone just gets soaked and its all cool. I wish I could tell you more about today cause my eyes were opened so freakin much and its just the first day! but we are about to go eat dinner so I will hit you up in a couple days or something when we get into the village. Keep it real and keep doing what you all do and remember Kenya in your prayers.. this place needs it more than you know.

i dont really like change. i used to like change. i used to love being away from my family. i loved living in provo and going to italy and being on my own. about a year ago my life changed and ever since then i hate change. i like a routine. i like waking up, going to work, coming home to dallin all all his loud friends. i have noticed with the children at my preschool that even they dont like change. i like knowing that everyone i need is in the same house as me. now it has changed. dallin left today for africa. i am really sad. dallin is my best friend. he is always there for me. the house was always filled with his music and his laughter. now it has changed. dallin will have so much fun in africa. i am jealous that he gets to do that.

me and dallin spent one year going to high school together. i loved it!

me and dallin were in the same ward. this is a ward activity. there was a game on my phone that me and dallin tried each sacrament meeting to beat. (dont judge. i know you play games during sacrament meeting also) i was sitting on the stand one sunday and i look and dallin is mouthing to me i beat it! i beat it! we were so excited!

Work was so bad last week. Our classroom was crazy!! We had two twins in our class that were sick and their parents wouldnt keep them home. They got everyone else sick. It is really hard to have 8 kids in your class that are all sick. They were screaming and wanting to be held. It was a mess. Me and the other teachers in my class were going crazy!

#1. Ali didn't come back. He denied her. So sad!
#2. Vienna? Really? She is a man! Yuck.
#3. Is Ali going to be on the reunion next week? Is she going to fight for him one last time?
#4. On the preview for the finale why were Vienna and Tenley both mad and crying? Was it because Ali makes her move at the reunion?
